Problem: Aug. 2020 – The Greenville Triumph had not hosted a home match with fans in over 10 months – the Upstate of South Carolina was beyond ready to cheer on their Triumph. The state of South Carolina had recently announced that venues could begin hosting fans at the lesser of 250 people or 50% of your venue’s capacity. The Triumph’s home field could host over 2,000 fans at 50% capacity and the front office felt compelled to petition for an exemption to the state’s directive so that more fans who felt comfortable with attending matches could do so while remaining safe and appropriately distanced.
Solution: The Triumph’s front office team prepared a detailed and calculated proposal to present to the South Carolina Department of Commerce that featured TicketReturn’s Safe Fan Seating algorithm on the 2nd page. A thorough presentation combined with TicketReturn’s Safe Fan Seating algorithm provided the state confidence that the Triumph’s fans could be safely socially distanced throughout the stadium.
Beginning on Aug. 15th and extending throughout the remainder of their 2020 season, the Triumph were permitted to host up to 2,000 fans – a 700% increase over the state’s mandated capacity of 250.
“TicketReturn’s Safe Fan Seating algorithm removed any need to micromanage the seat map as we prepared to open our venue up to 50% capacity. Any concern or worry I would have with keeping fans socially distanced was removed and we were able to successfully welcome fans back to our venue.”
